Kenya holds terror suspects who targeted kids

Nairobi - Kenyan police have arrested two terrorist suspects with links to Iran who planned attacks against targets including schoolchildren, police said Saturday.

Kenyan citizens Abubakar Saddik, 69, and Yassin Juma, 25, had travelled to Iran several times before being held in October, police inspector general Joseph Boinnett told journalists.

They received training and instructions on how to recruit terrorists in Kenya, he said.

Boinnett linked the suspects with the Quds Force, an elite unit of Iran's Revolutionary Guard.

The arrests resulted from international co-operation, the police chief said, vowing: "We will not tolerate subversive activity on our soil."
