Rivers APC mourns Egiland monarch's passing

Abuja - The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Rivers State, Dakuku Peterside, has paid tribute to the late Eze Egi of Egiland, Elemchukwu Elenwa.

He paid the respects at the burial of the monarch this past weekend in Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area of the state.

Peterside described the deceased as “an epitome of courage, peace and justice.”

“These virtues of fairness, impartiality and fearlessness characterized the royal life of the Eze during his reign,” said Peterside

He said the passage of the king was a loss, not only to Egi people but also to Rivers State and all lovers of peace and justice all over the world.

The late Elenwa, Peterside added, spent most of his time on the throne fighting for the good of his people.

“He lived sacrificially and believed that justice and peace must go hand in hand. Today, he is remembered and appreciated for leaving a lasting legacy,” said Peterside.

Dignitaries attended the burial ceremony of the late monarch.
